1948–1953 Panhead Engine

The first of the Panheads — pan-shaped rocker covers and the silhouette that defined an era.

Introduced in 1948 as the successor to the Knucklehead, the Panhead brought aluminum cylinder heads that ran lighter and cooler. Its namesake pan-shaped rocker covers gave it one of the most recognizable silhouettes in all of motorcycling. These earliest 1948–1953 units are pure post-war Americana. This 1/6-scale piece is built and aged by a single craftsman in Osaka, Japan.
